LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Activities Association has sided with referees who ejected a Pulaski Academy football player during a game earlier this month against an Oklahoma team.

Referees ejected center Allen Amuimuia during the third quarter of the Bruins’ game Sept. 2 against Sand Springs after he was accused of punching a defensive lineman. But Amuimuia’s mother, Tara, sued the AAA to prevent her son’s one-game suspension.

Tara Amuimuia tells Little Rock television station KATV (https://bit.ly/2dkAZP8 ) that her son wasn’t fighting and was instead “trying to push the kid away.” The Sand Springs player was also ejected.

A judge in Little Rock issued an injunction earlier this month preventing the AAA from suspending Amuimuia until an appeal hearing was held. On Wednesday, the AAA voted unanimously in favor of the referees’ decision.
