TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A man has pleaded not guilty to murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Tacoma.

The News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2csgQGV ) that 50-year-old Yancy Ray entered not guilty pleas Thursday to charges of second-degree murder and unlawful gun possession. He remains held on $2 million bail for the Sept. 3 shooting.

Prosecutors say Ray shot and killed 41-year-old Hyson Sabb after an argument over a marijuana deal.

Ray’s attorney maintains his client acted in self-defense after Sabb attacked him.

Ray turned himself in to police on Wednesday.

His wife was charged earlier this month with rendering criminal assistance after authorities say she helped Ray flee to Oregon after the shooting.
