GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - The Greenville Zoo has a new resident - a 7-year-old male giraffe named Miles.

The zoo announced Thursday that Miles arrived this week from the Houston Zoo.

Greenville Zoo officials hope he will breed with Autumn, a female giraffe who gave birth in 2012 and again earlier this year. Autumn’s old mate has been moved to the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, New Jersey.

Miles’ move was recommended by the Giraffe Species Survival Program and will be in quarantine for a month before joining the other giraffes at the Greenville Zoo.
