DALTON, Pa. (AP) - A purse-snatching suspect and his mother have been found dead in a northeastern Pennsylvania.

The bodies of 21-year-old Daniel Singer and 57-year-old Bonni Shelp were found Thursday afternoon, a few hours after Clarks Summit police filed robbery and other charges against Singer. Police contend Singer pulled behind an elderly woman in her driveway, then got out and took her purse as she was returning home Tuesday afternoon.

Autopsies were set Friday, but authorities have refused to release other details about the deaths.

Lackawanna County District Attorney Shane Scanlon says there’s no public danger. Authorities say the deaths are considered “suspicious” but no foul play was suspected. They declined to explain further.

Shelp worked for the county as a court-appointed guardian of children in custody and family court disputes.
