LOS ANGELES (AP) - Strong winds and low relative humidity levels are bringing increased fire danger to Southern California.

Northerly winds whipped up late Thursday, bringing down trees and knocking out power in some areas of Los Angeles.

The National Weather Service says potentially stronger winds are expected into the weekend.

Drivers are urged to use caution on mountain roads.

Humidity levels are predicted to slip to between 5 and 15 percent. Red flag warnings have been issued for mountain and valley areas through Sunday.

Some communities will station additional crews in danger areas to deal with increased fire risk.
