AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - A New York man charged in the shooting deaths of a Maine couple on Christmas is scheduled to stand trial in July.

David Marble Jr., of Rochester, appeared in court Augusta for a hearing earlier this week. His trial was set for July 13.

Marble was indicted in February on murder charges in the shooting deaths of 35-year-old Eric Williams and 26-year-old Bonnie Royer. He has pleaded not guilty.

Police say Williams and Royer were shot in Manchester, outside of Augusta.

One of them called 911 from a dirt road about a mile from their home on the day of the shooting, and responding officers later found both of them dead.
