UNITY, Maine (AP) - The 40th installment of Maine’s rural and sustainable living festival is heading into its second day in Unity with demonstrations on everything from how to care for sheep to how to ferment your own food.
The Common Ground Country Fair started on Friday and continues Saturday and Sunday. The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association hosts the event.
The festival is centered on talks, demonstrations and exhibits about environmentally sustainable living. Saturday’s events include a presentation about how to milk dairy goats, a forum on pedal-powered vehicles and a talk called “I Bought a Fleece. Now What?”
MOFGA expects about 60,000 people to participate in the three day festival.
