GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have suspended the search for a man who did not return from a camping trip in western Colorado.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (https://goo.gl/2F4eIN ) 43-year-old Scott Burke, of Craig, left Friday and did not return as expected Saturday. Three days of searching by land and air did not turn up any signs of the man.

Mesa County sheriff’s officials say the general search area spans more than 700 square miles, and Burke might be in the North Desert or the Bookcliff area west of De Beque.

The search will resume if new information narrows down his whereabouts.
