SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Mustangs trained by inmates in California are being offered for adoption.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2bTDQOH ) that there will be a meet and greet period before the auction of the Bureau Land and Management horses in Elk Grove on Saturday.

The BLM California State Officer partnered with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department to open a wild horse holding and training facility at the Rio Consumnes Correctional Center in 2014.

Inmates trained the wild horses for adoption and will be working with the ten horses during the auction. They are mares and geldings from 4 to 6 years old.

According to a BLM news release, the bidding will start at $300.
