ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Five inmates in the Rapides Parish jail face charges of raping another inmate there.

The Town Talk reports (https://townta.lk/2crV0kt ) that one of those accused is a 17-year-old awaiting trial in the beating death of a man at an Alexandria motel.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint Aug. 21 about the alleged sexual assault in the jail.

Authorities say 18-year-old Richard Edward Thomas Ambush is accused of two counts of rape. He’s awaiting trial on second-degree murder.

Facing one count of rape is Akeeley Keshawn Blade Jr., who’s also charged with first-degree murder, as an adult, in the motel slaying.

Attorneys for Ambush and Blade did not immediately return a call for comment Thursday.

Another charged with rape is 17, and two are younger.
