LIVERMORE, Calif. (AP) - A police officer in the city of Livermore under investigation in a sex scandal that has ensnared several Northern California law enforcement agencies has resigned.

Livermore police Chief Michael Harris announced the resignation on Thursday. Harris says the officer was put on administrative leave June 14 and resigned after learning the results of the investigation. Harris did not release the officer’s name.

The announcement came a day after Oakland announced disciplinary action against 12 officers implicated by a teenage prostitute in the wide-ranging sex scandal.

The 19-year-old woman at the center of the scandal she said she has had sex with about 30 law enforcement officials from different agencies. She said she had sex with four officers before she turned 18.
