EARLVILLE, Md. (AP) - Authorities say a fire at a Cecil County farm destroyed thousands of stacked bales of hay worth $250,000.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office said in a news release that the fire was reported Wednesday morning at Chestnut Lane Farms in Earlville.

Officials say it took 40 firefighters two hours to bring the blaze under control. No one was injured.

The Fire Marsha’s Office says the 2,000 hay bales were stacked on the property to sell.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
