Louisiana-Monroe (1-0) at No. 14 Oklahoma (1-0), 7 p.m. ET

Line: Oklahoma by 47.

Series Record: Oklahoma leads 1-0.

Oklahoma needs to regain its footing after a season-opening loss to Houston. The Sooners host No. 4 Ohio State the following week, so they need to build confidence. Louisiana-Monroe is going for its second straight victory to start the season after winning just two games last year.

Louisiana-Monroe WRs vs. Oklahoma CBs. Oklahoma’s cornerbacks, other than Jordan Thomas, struggled against Houston. Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops hinted that changes could be coming. Former receiver Michiah Quick could get a serious look as a cornerback.

Louisiana-Monroe: QB Garrett Smith. He passed for 208 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 150 yards and another score in the season-opening win over Southern.

Oklahoma: RB Samaje Perine. His shoulder was dinged up against Houston and he only had six carries for 31 yards. Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops declared him ready to go, and that could spell trouble for the Warhawks, especially if Oklahoma gets ahead early. The 235-pound bruiser has more than 3,000 career yards, with a fair portion of it coming in the second half of games against worn down opponents.

Oklahoma is 2-0 under Bob Stoops following season-opening losses. … The Sooners have won 10 straight home openers. … The Warhawks were the only FBS school in Louisiana to win on the opening weekend of the season. LSU, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette and Tulane all lost. … Oklahoma is 4-0 all-time against Sun Belt teams, including a 34-0 win over Louisiana-Monroe in 2013. … Oklahoma will play its first game inside the newly renovated, bowled in Memorial Stadium.
