ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - A man who authorities say fatally shot another man before turning the gun on himself at an Atlantic City outlet mall has been charged with murder.

The Press of Atlantic City reports (https://bit.ly/2cnVZDG ) 55-year-old Luis Maisonet was also charged this week with aggravated assault and a weapons offense.

Prosecutors say Maisonet shot 26-year-old Christopher Romero multiple times at The Walk last week. He then walked into a store and shot himself in the chest.

Authorities say an off-duty police officer wrestled the gun away and secured the store until he could get the attention of police.

Maisonet was listed in critical condition at a hospital.

The Tanger outlets are a popular shopping destination near the city’s casinos and boardwalk.

It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney to comment.
