SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Texas Hill Country native Susan Lynch Pape, who has risen through the leadership ranks at the San Antonio Express-News over the past decade, has been promoted to publisher of the daily newspaper.

The Express-News (https://bit.ly/2cmjNJA) reports the Boerne (BUR’-nee), Texas, native will also continue as its chief financial officer, as well as CFO of the Houston Chronicle, a Hearst Newspapers corporate sibling.

Before joining the Hearst Newspapers, Lynch Pape served as chief financial officer of the former Harte-Hanks newspaper chain and KENS-TV when the San Antonio station was owned by the Belo Corp.

Lynch Pape is the first woman to be named the top executive of the Express-News in the newspaper’s 151-year history.
