LINCOLN, N.D. (AP) - Turnover at the city of Lincoln’s auditor’s office continues with the resignation of another top leader.

Lincoln Mayor Gerarld Wise tells the Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/2cow2DY ) that city auditor Paula Hunt left her position Friday, after 10 months on the job, with no explanation. Hunt was Lincoln’s fourth auditor over the past two years.

City officials are close to drafting a preliminary 2017 budget, but this will be the second consecutive year that the city’s auditor will not be involved in the process.

After nine years on the job, Melanie Kitzan left the city auditor’s position in September 2014. Her replacement resigned after four months. Mary Marvel was later named city auditor but was dismissed five months into the job over bookkeeping errors.

Council Member Tom Volk says the “job is a challenging position.”
