DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - At least two people have been injured in a massive fire at a west Davenport apartment complex.

The fire was reported around 1:30 a.m. Friday in a three-story unit at the Eagle’s Crest Apartments.

As firefighters arrived they could see flames shooting from the roof of the 15-unit building. Fire Chief Lynn Washburn says the roof collapsed later, so fire crews could attack the flames from only the outside.

The two people were taken to a hospital. The extent of their injuries and their names haven’t been released.

The fire cause is being investigated.
