SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Josh Romney says he and his father Mitt Romney fear that Donald Trump is causing “permanent damage” to the Republican Party.

The younger Romney said in a speech to a Brigham Young University business group in Salt Lake City on Thursday that he worries that Trump’s comments about a temporary ban on foreign Muslims and a border wall with Mexico have hurt the GOP’s image with minority voters.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/2cjpFBA ) Josh Romney says it’s astonishing that Hillary Clinton and Trump are the major party nominees.

He didn’t offer clues as to how his father will vote.

Mitt Romney has said he won’t vote Clinton or Trump.

On Wednesday, the former presidential candidate tweeted that he would like to see Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson in debates but did not endorse him.
