HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to hold a public meeting in Huntsville on its proposed statewide transportation plan.

The Decatur Daily reports (https://bit.ly/2bXCpu0) that the meeting is set for 5 p.m. on Sept. 20 at the Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments.

The plan summarizes current conditions of the state’s transportation system and Alabama’s needs and priorities for the next 25 years. The Decatur newspaper reports that it includes all modes of travel, identifies system needs, evaluates investments in infrastructure and maintenance and compares funding levels against needs.
