MARION, Ill. (AP) - The Marion Veterans Affairs Medical Center in southern Illinois is getting a new director.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs announced this week that it has chosen Jo-Ann Ginsberg for the post. She’s expected to start within the next month and a half.

Ginsberg has worked for the VA for five years, most recently serving as associate director for patient care services at the VA Black Hills Health Care System in South Dakota.

The Marion VA center cares for more than 43,000 veterans a year in southern Illinois, southwestern Indiana and northwestern Kentucky.
