COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (AP) - Police say they’ve found the body of a missing Utah hiker.

Unified Police Department Lt. Brian Lohrke says 28-year-old Benjamin Krizer’s body was found Tuesday in the Ferguson Canyon. He says Kritzer may have died from a fall while climbing the mountainside.

His family reported Kritzer missing after not hearing from him since Thursday. They travelled from North Carolina to help with his search. Police say it was his family who found the Saratoga Springs man’s body.

Drones, K-9s and ground and air crews were sent to search for Kritzer. Lohrke says because Kritzer was known as an experienced hiker, there was hope of finding him alive. Bad weather over the weekend complicated the search and police suspect Kritzer’s body had been covered in snow.
