KEOKUK, Iowa (AP) - The Keokuk Union Depot museum area is now displaying depot artifacts and history.

The Daily Gate City reports (https://bit.ly/2qeygN8 ) that people have already donated many items that will be displayed in the depot’s new cases. Community members are invited Saturday morning to bring memorabilia, or just stop by to visit, during an open house. Tours will be available.

Items already on display include an original roof tile, a lantern, photographs of President Theodore Roosevelt’s arrival at the depot during his visit to Keokuk, and a circa-1898 canceled check from the depot.

Roof tiles will be available for signing. Any donation entitles the donor to put his or her name on the back of a tile that will be installed this summer on the depot roof.
