ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont town that has proclaimed itself the “maple center of the world” is going to be celebrating the history and heritage of the maple industry.

The annual event in St. Johnsbury will be held Saturday on and around Railroad Street.

Festival organizer Scott Beck tells the Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/2ptt1ID ) last year between 6,000 and 7,000 people attended, the most ever. They’re hoping for at least that many again this year.

There will be a variety of activities, including a pancake breakfast and a street festival.
