BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore police say three people have been shot to death in a span of about 12 hours.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of Asquith Street about 10 a.m. Sunday and found a 35-year-old man who had been shot in the back of the head. He was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Police say a possible witness reported seeing a man running from the scene and jumping into a beige or tan vehicle that sped away.

On Saturday, officers responded to Baltimore and Carey Streets about 10:15 p.m. and found 18-year-old Steven Jackson shot in the head. A second man, 29-year-old Larry Lawson, was found just around the corner on Stockton Street, shot in the abdomen.

Both died a short time later at Shock Trauma.
