BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a missing man has been recovered from an Alabama lake.

Al.com reports the man’s body was found in Lay Lake on Monday around 9 a.m. The man’s identity has not been released.

Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel says the search for the man began Sunday around 11 a.m. and centered on an area near Waxahatchee Creek.

Marine police from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency called off the search Sunday night and resumed it at daylight Monday. Further details have not been released.
