LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Latest on the Los Angeles stabbing of a mother in front of her son (all times local):

10:05 a.m.

Police have arrested a man suspected of fatally stabbing his wife multiple times in front of their 12-year-old son at their Los Angeles home.

Authorities said Monday that 38-year-old Aurelio Teran was transported to a hospital after a sheriff’s sergeant responded to reports of a pedestrian on a roadway. Teran was arrested at the hospital after the sergeant recognized him as the stabbing suspect.

It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney. Police didn’t say why Teran was hospitalized.

Early Sunday, neighbors reported hearing a commotion and then seeing the 12-year-old run from the Teran house screaming for help.

Responding officers found 31-year-old Viridiana Teran suffering from at least six stab wounds to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The boy was not hurt.

Authorities are searching for a man suspected of fatally stabbing his wife multiple times in front of their 12-year-old son at their Los Angeles home.

Neighbors reported hearing a commotion and then seeing the boy run from the house screaming for help around dawn Sunday.

Responding officers found 31-year-old Viridiana Teran suffering from at least six stab wounds to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police Capt. Lillian Carranza says the suspect is 38-year-old Aurelio Teran, the victim’s husband of over 12 years. Officials say no weapon was found so he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The boy, who was not hurt, is in the custody of Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
