CHESILHURST, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey police officer shot a man they say was brandishing a butcher knife and threatening women at a senior housing facility.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the Wednesday shooting at the B’nai B’rith Chesilhurst House.

The Courier-Post reports (https://on.cpsj.com/2vtTvN8 ) police were responding to a 911 call about a man threatening women at the facility.

Officers say they located Daniel McOsker, a resident of the facility in his 60s, holding a meat clever when they arrived. Officials say an officer shot McOsker in the leg after he refused orders to drop the knife.

McOsker is currently hospitalized and charged with making terroristic threats. The officer, whom police have not identified, has been placed on administrative leave for the investigation.

It wasn’t immediately clear if McOsker had an attorney.
