WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina man has been convicted of shooting and killing a man who he was living with at the time.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported that 55-year-old William Ryan Marks was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder in the 2015 shooting death of 31-year-old James Naylor of Mocksville.

Judge Stanley Allen sentenced Marks to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Prosecutors said the men were living with William Marks former wife at the time of the shooting. They said the men argued after Naylor poured some grease down the drain after cooking breakfast.

Marks’ attorney said his client fired after Naylor was rushing toward him.

Marks apologized in court before he was sentenced.
