“The Silence Breakers” who launched the #MeToo movement have been named Time magazine’s Person of the Year.


Women recognized for the award include actresses Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan, as well as pop star Taylor Swift.

President Donald Trump was named first runner-up in the annual contest, followed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Mr. Trump, who was named Person of the Year last year, tweeted last month that Time called to say he would probably be given the honors again this year. But the president said he “took a pass.”


Time has denied that it had reached out to Mr. Trump.
