MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski said Friday that she feels “incredibly uneasy” about Sen. Al Franken’s resignation amid multiple sexual harassment claims, suggesting that at least one of the Democrat’s accusers should have faced more scrutiny because of her Republican leanings.

“I have an incredibly uneasy feeling about this entire story,” Ms. Brzezinski said in a clip flagged by Mediaite.

She read an excerpt from a column in The Washington Post arguing that Democrats overreacted to Mr. Franken’s alleged behavior this time around because they “underreacted” to the allegations against former President Bill Clinton.

Ms. Brzezinski then appeared to question the motives of Los Angeles radio host Leeann Tweeden, who was the first woman to accuse Mr. Franken of inappropriate conduct and who provided a photo of the then-“Saturday Night Live” cast member of groping, or pretending to grope, her while she slept on a 2006 USO tour.

“We’ve never really talked about the woman who first came out against Al Franken … a performer, Playboy model who goes on Hannity, who voted for Trump,” Ms. Brzezinski said.

“I see some politics there, but I haven’t brought that up every step of the way because of course, in this ‘Me Too’ environment, you must always just believe the women,” she added.

Ms. Brzezinski questioned whether “all women” should be believed outright.

“I’m concerned that we are being the judge the jury and the cops here and so did Senate Democrats getting ahead of their skis,” she said.

Ms. Tweeden made semi-regular appearances on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show during Barack Obama’s presidency and has described herself as “fiscally conservative,” The Washington Post reported. She told one interviewer that she voted twice for former President George W. Bush, but hasn’t said whether she cast a vote for Mr. Trump.
