GALLUP, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas says a 33-year-old man will serve 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges that he sexually abused a child.

Barion Ernesto Solorzano was sentenced on Friday after his guilty plea to several charges relating to the abuse.

Authorities say Solorzano was a registered sex offender in Nevada before moving to New Mexico without permission.

A young girl told police in December 2014 that Solorzano had molested her and taken photos. Police investigating found child pornography on his cell phone.
