JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Police say some would-be robbers smashed a stolen pickup truck through the train and bus station in downtown Jackson and tried to uproot an ATM.

Multiple news outlets report that Union Station was open and two security guards were among those inside when the incident happened before dawn Monday.

The people in the stolen Chevrolet S10 used chains to try to steal the cash machine. They couldn’t do it, and ended up abandoning the truck on a street nearby.
