PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police have released the name of a teenage boy who was killed in a shooting on the city’s west side.

They announced Wednesday that the victim was Carlos Villareal.

He was transported to a hospital after Monday night’s shooting and was later pronounced dead.

Police say a 15-year-old boy was critically injured in the same incident.

His name hasn’t been released yet.

Police say both teens were shot by one of two suspects who both then ran off.

The incident occurred outside a residence near 35th and Northern avenues.
