BENSON, Vt. (AP) - Police from Vermont and New York are resuming the search for two snowmobilers who are believed to have fallen through the ice on Lake Champlain between the two states.

State police divers will search the lake Wednesday near Putnam, New York.

Searchers will also use sonar as part of their efforts to locate 23-year-old Brandon Barrett, of Benson, Vermont, and 32-year-old Jonathan Ryan, of Shoreham, Vermont. They are believed to have left Benson Village on the evening of Feb. 9 and never returned.

Police tracked their snowmobiles onto the ice. Searchers believe the two were attempting to cross the ice from Vermont to New York to go to a restaurant in Ticonderoga (ty-kahn-dur-OH’-gah), New York.
