FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) - Police in Bergen County say a suspect ended up stranded on a cliff after fleeing a drug sting.

Authorities say officers executed a controlled drug purchase around 5:15 p.m. Monday in Fort Lee. Police say the suspect fled into a wooded area near the George Washington Bridge.

Officials say the suspect got caught in a tree as he attempted to climb down the Palisade Cliff.

Police rappel teams were called to rescue the man.

The suspect faces narcotics charges and charges for resisting arrest. Police say the man is also wanted for an armed robbery from New York.
