HOLLY HILL, Fla. (AP) - Police say a train struck and killed a man who was standing on the tracks in central Florida.

Holly Hill police Chief Steve Aldrich tells The Daytona Beach News-Journal (https://bit.ly/2kUGJhY ) the train’s conductor spotted the man just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The conductor told investigators the man was facing the train and made no attempt to move off the tracks. The train didn’t stop in time and hit him.

The identity of the man hasn’t been released. An autopsy is planned.

The incident remains under investigation.
