TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a boat carrying 18 children with special needs capsized on Tempe Town Lake, but everyone aboard was able to make it to shore safely.

Tempe police say the children all were wearing safety jackets at the time of the incident Tuesday evening.

They say it’s unclear how the boat overturned in the man-made lake.

Police say all of the children are safe and accounted for.

Although there are no injuries, police say some of the children showed signs of hypothermia and were given blankets at the scene.
