Former Republican Sen. Rick Santorum announced Tuesday that he is joining CNN as senior political commentator.

The former GOP presidential candidate revealed the news on Twitter after alerting his followers to a “big announcement” coming soon.

CNN announced Tuesday morning that it is adding a new group of contributors, including former Democratic Rep. Steve Israel and former Democratic Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, who will also serve as political commentators, The Hill reported.

National Review’s JD Vance, the Washington Examiner’s Salena Zito, and The Washington Post’s David Fahrenthold and Wesley Lowery will be joining as contributors. Former Philadelphia police commissioner Charles Ramsey will join CNN as a law enforcement analyst.

“The new additions will add to CNN’s existing diverse lineup of political experts, former campaign insiders, journalists, authors, and leading industry experts that represent a broad spectrum of political views,” the network said in a statement, The Hill reported.
