WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) - Two men have been ordered to stand trial in the shooting deaths of a mother and her adult son in their central Pennsylvania home on Halloween night last year.

The Williamsport Sun-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2jzWfTx ) reports that a Lycoming County judge ruled Tuesday that there was sufficient evidence to hold 35-year-old Joseph Coleman Jr. and 24-year-old Jordan Rawls for trial on criminal homicide and related offenses including firearms crimes.

Williamsport police allege that 25-year-old Shane Wright and 50-year-old Kristine Kibler were shot during an attempted robbery. Wright was found dead and Kibler died at a hospital.

Coleman’s attorney unsuccessfully sought dismissal of the homicide and conspiracy charges, arguing that his client was standing outside when the fatal shots were fired and expressed “surprise and shock” about the shooting.
