RESTON, Va. (AP) - Fairfax County police say someone fired shots at a police cruiser.

Police tweeted that the shooting occurred early Monday along Georgetown Pike in the Reston area.

Media outlets report that as an officer tried to stop a car, a passenger from that car ran away and the driver drove off, then turned around and fired at the cruiser. The officer was not hit, but the cruiser was struck at least once.
