GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have pulled a wrecked car from Black Creek and the bodies of three people were found inside.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/2hYlLjZ ) police got a call at 7:44 a.m. Thursday after workers heading across a newly constructed bridge spotted a car upside down in the water, with only its rear wheels visible. Gadsden Police Sgt. John Hallman says the Etowah County Dive Team responded to assist.

The car, a red four-door sedan, was upside down in about six to seven feet of water just off the bank. It appeared to have been traveling eastbound when it went into the water. It took crews about 30 minutes to pull the vehicle from the water. Hallman says authorities then found a man, woman and teen-aged boy inside.

Investigators are working to identify them.
