COVENTRY, R.I. (AP) - Police in Rhode Island are investigating after a truck carrying an oversized load took down poles and wires on a road.

Coventry police told WPRI-TV the truck was moving a “modular home” Saturday when it apparently snagged power lines and pulled poles down. Col. John MacDonald says he was told the driver deviated from the planned route and took a wrong turn.

National Grid crews were at the scene.

MacDonald says the truck was being operated by the same company that moved a truck stuck in Warwick last month because it was too heavy for the state’s bridges. He says the incidents are not related.

The incident occurred on Harkney Hill Road. Police say they will be setting up a detour using Phillips Hill Road and Hill Farm Road.
