The “Cartoon of the Day” featured Tuesday on “MSNBC Live” pictured Sen. John McCain lying in a hospital bed, just days after it was announced the Arizona Republican was diagnosed with an aggressive type of brain cancer.

In a clip flagged by Mediaite, MSNBC hosts Stephanie Ruhle and Ali Velshi introduced a cartoon by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Adam Zyglis, which depicted Mr. McCain lying next to “Decency” and “Bipartisanship” in a hospital room.

Ms. Ruhle could be heard calling the cartoon “extraordinary.”

The MSNBC hosts introduced the cartoon during a discussion on the Senate’s upcoming vote on a motion to proceed to debate on health care legislation, which Mr. McCain is expected to support.

Mr. McCain’s office said Monday that the senator would return to Washington, D.C., to cast his vote, six days after it was announced he is suffering from a primary glioblastoma, a very aggressive type of brain tumor.
