AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - In a story July 26, The Associated Press reported that the Texas Senate approved a more comprehensive ban on texting while driving that supersedes existing local ordinances against distracted driving. The story should have made clear that while the bill supersedes existing ordinances about operating hands-free devices while driving, it does not relate specifically to texting while driving.
