TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Students in a dozen schools in New Jersey will get sent home early because of the hot and humid weather.

A heat advisory remains in effect Tuesday for Hudson, eastern Essex, eastern Union, Mercer, Gloucester, Camden and northwest Burlington counties.

Forecasters say the heat and humidity will combine to make it feel like temperatures are in the upper 90s.

The state Environmental Protection Department also has issued an air quality alert. Air pollution concentrations could become health for the very young, the very old and those who have heart or lung disease.
