LACONIA, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has suffered minor injuries after his 700-pound (317-kilogram) riding lawn mower fell on top of him - trapping him in a brook.

Bernie Colangeli was mowing the lawn at his Laconia home Sunday. WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2s4GRAQ ) he had recently undergone hip replacement surgery, and had been off crutches for three days before the accident.

Colangeli says he accidentally drove into the brook running through his property, forgetting his mower wasn’t in reverse. The vehicle toppled over, pinning him in the stream and up to his neck in water.

Neighbor Deborah Mitchell heard Colangeli’s faint cries for help and alerted authorities. He’s using crutches again and has a few bruises. Colangeli says he plans to get back on the mower soon.
