RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Two teens have been arrested in Virginia with connections to a carjacking and shooting.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports the 16-year-old boys were arrested after Chesterfield County police found another teenage boy with a not life-threatening gunshot wound early Saturday.

Police say they responded shortly after 4 a.m. at apartments in the North Chesterfield area of Richmond and found the injured teen. Police believe he was shot as his vehicle was being carjacked.

Police say the victim and suspects are acquainted, and that on Sunday they discovered the victim’s burgundy 1997 Honda Accord.

The suspected teens face several charges, including attempted robbery. The two were held on Sunday in the Chesterfield Juvenile Detention Home pending a hearing in Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Police continue to investigate.
