HENDERSON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have found the bodies of two teenagers who disappeared in rough waters on the eastern end of Lake Ontario.

State police identified the victims as 18-year-old Lorenz Greenwood Coinco and 14-year-old Andrew Stevenson. State police say they were cousins from Watertown.

Police say troopers responded around 3:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of two teens in distress about 90 feet (27 meters) offshore at Robert G. Wehle (WAY’-lee) State Park in the Jefferson County town of Henderson.

Troopers say the teens had started to struggle in waves up to 5 feet (1.5 meters), went under, and weren’t seen again.

The U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies searched through the night and into early Monday afternoon before the victims were located.

Autopsies will be performed to determine cause of death.
