ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis neighbors have tracked down roofers who ran away after realizing they began work on the wrong house.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/2tgaLnZ ) reports that St. Louis homeowner Laura McInnis discovered that nearly half the shingles on her perfectly good roof were missing Friday. She and her husband posted on Facebook asking if anyone had spotted roofers in the area.

A neighbor mentioned she saw a blue van in the area Thursday morning. The vehicle was later found on security camera footage.

The McInnis family was eventually able to track down the roofing company after a neighbor and mail carrier spotted the van.

McInnis says the workers were apologetic and replaced the roof Monday. She declined to give the company’s name, saying they handled the situation well.
