PITTSBURGH (AP) - A judge has ordered a former Pittsburgh police recruit to stand trial on charges that he sent nude photographs of himself to two girls, ages 13 and 15.

Cyrus Sukhadia (soo-KAY’-dee-ah) is accused of contacting the girls in 2014 using smartphone apps. The 24-year-old is already awaiting trial on separate allegations that he had sex with two 15-year-old girls.

Sukhadia’s lawyer said Wednesday the apps are not designed for underage users and Sukhadia expected the pictures were being sent to adults. Prosecutors say the 13-year-old girl told him she was 15 before he sent pictures.

A judge dismissed charges related to alleged sexting with another underage girl. Police were unable to track down the alleged victim and the judge said it was impossible to verify that she was a minor.
